Monday motivation + 7 ways to be more PRODUCTIVE

Hey y’all!! Hope everyone is having a great Monday! (Trust me, it’s possible)

I wanted to try to encourage everyone on this Monday, because I know I need it, so I’m sure someone else does too.

First, I want to start out with some Bible verses that should motivate us in our everyday lives, and our faith.

  1. Matthew 6:33: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and All these things will be given to you as well.”
  2. Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
  3. Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
  4. Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
  5. Lamentations 3:22-23: “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumer, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
  6. 1 Corinthians 16:13: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
  7. James 1:2-4: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Reading these make me feel so encouraged, I hope they do for y’all as well. The last verse is one of my favorite verses, and it just makes me feel SO pumped when I read it. I would like to think that my life motto is “pure joy”. In everything I do, I try to remind myself to have pure joy, and to remember the pure joy that I am feeling in that moment. It just makes me smile thinking about it. Sometime soon I will do a whole blog post about what it means to have pure joy, because that is something that is so important to me, and how I live my life. Would y’all like that to see a blog post about that?

Okay, next.. I want to share with y’all seven ways how to be PRODUCTIVE when you don’t feel like being productive. We’ve all been there, and it sucks.

How to be more productive when you do not feel like it (usually on Mondays lol)

1.LISTS

Y’all… Making lists is MY. FAVORITE. HOBBY. Yes, I said it was a hobby. I have like 4 different planners, all with lists in in them. I love lists. On Mondays, when I feel sluggish, coming off of a fun weekend and knowing that I have 4 more whole days until the next weekend, (ugh) I make a list of what I need/want to get done that day. I usually make my Monday lists a little less busy, because… Monday, ya know? I know that didn’t make sense, but I think you all get what I mean.

Start off your Monday with a list of all you need to do that day, and all you WANT to get done. But, be a little more lenient on the WANTS, because… Monday.

  1.  Wake up EARLIER

I love waking up early. When you get up early, shower, have your coffee, and make your to-do list for the day, then you look up and it’s only 9:00am and it’s like so exciting that you have the whole rest of your day to do stuff!

  1. TIMED BREAKS

If I have a busy day, I used timed breaks to chill and sit down before I go on to the next thing. The reason I time my breaks is because the timer going off keeps me more accountable for moving on to the next thing, than if I did not have a timer. I will do 2-3 things, take a break for 30 minutes or so, then do 1-2 homework assignments, take another break, and so on. Whether my breaks consist of watching One Tree Hill (it just came on Hulu this week and I’m PUMPED), or taking Duke, our little doggy, for a walk, or checking social media for 10 minutes or something.  It doesn’t matter what your break consists of, as long as you go on to the next thing after your break is up.

  1. ONE THING AT A TIME

Get one thing done at a time, multitasking can get confusing and unorganized sometimes. When I try to multi-task doing the dishes and homework or responding to E-mails and cleaning the house… it does not go over well. It is more productive to get one thing done, than try to do 5 different things at once and MAYBE finish one of them. This is why I plan and organize my day to Clean first then take a break, then do homework and take a break and respond to E-mails. When I focus on one thing, I am not distracted by anything else, and I get that task done faster.

  1. Have a HAPPY attitude

Find PURE JOY in your day and all the things that come with it. When you have a happy attitude, you are more willing to do things. When you are moping around and feeling sorry for yourself, of course you won’t get anything done. If your day is busy, find PURE JOY in the fact that God gave you this day, and you are going to take His blessing, and Do something with it, don’t just sit around. Get things done, and have the satisfaction of being productive and accomplishing the day that the Lord gave you.

  1. When things look good on the outside, it makes you FEEL good on the inside

This semester of college is my last semester, and all of my classes are online. Although, last semester all of my classes were on campus. I chose to wake my happy butt up early everyday, no matter if I had a 8:00 am or a 10:00am class, and I would do my make-up, and put on a cute outfit. There’s a saying that goes, “look good, feel good”. This saying really applies to me because if I look put together, I feel more put together. This seriously works for me. People would be like “Wow, how do you dress so cute for an 8:00am class?” And I knew they were seriously judging me, but I did not care because I felt great, and I felt put together, which made me want to be more productive. I’m not saying this could work for everyone, but it does work for me. Also I am not saying you have to look cute to be productive. Me getting dressed and make-up on was just an example.

Another example is that when your workspace looks good, you feel better about it, and it allows you to feel more productive. Whether it is your desk, your house, your bed, or whatever. When things are organized on the outside, it is easier for us to feel more organized and ready to be productive on the inside.

  1. GET SLEEP

Y’all… sleep is SO important to be productive. Especially for Monday’s. Really try to get a goodnight’s sleep on Sunday nights. You’re ending your busy weekend, and you don’t want to carry it over into the week, to interfere with your productivity. Sunday night’s sleeps are so important because this night of sleep usually sets the standard for the rest of the week.

Think about it… I know Sunday is technically the first day of the week, but Monday is the first day of work/school for most people, and what you do on this Monday, how you act on this Monday, and how you FEEL on this Monday, can set the tone for the rest of your week. Set the tone the right way.

Now everyone go crush the rest of your week!!! Don’t forget.. Find PURE joy in every circumstance!!!!!

Don’e be afraid to leave a comment letting me know what you thought about this post, I’d love to hear! 🙂

Thanks for reading guys!

Xoxo
